Experimental Study on Chloride Stress Corrosion Cracking Sensitivity of 316L Stainless Steel

چکیده
The slow–strain-rate tensile test was used to study the chloride stress corrosion cracking (SSC) behavior of 316L stainless steel under simulated condition a CO2 gas field in Tarim Basin, and effects CO2, Cl? concentration, temperature on sensitivity SCC were discussed. results show that increase content has no apparent influence steel. With rise temperature, SCC’s increases, change index Iscc is noticeable. When concentration also increases. degree three factors experimental can be ranked as follows: temperature>Cl? > CO2. In this experiment, when partial pressure 0.1 MPa, 65°C, 1,20,000 mg/L, samples maximum 26.8%.

Stress Corrosion Cracking of an Austenitic Stainless Steel in Nitrite-Containing Chloride Solutions
This article describes the susceptibility of 316L stainless steel to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in a nitrite-containing chloride solution. Slow strain rate testing (SSRT) in 30 wt. % MgCl₂ solution established SCC susceptibility, as evidenced by post-SSRT fractography. Addition of nitrite to the chloride solution, which is reported to have inhibitive influence on corrosion of stainless ste...
متن کاملMicro abrasion-corrosion of AISI 316L stainless steel
In this study, the synergistic effects of abrasion and corrosion on AISI 316L stainless steel have been investigated using a micro-abrasion test rig. A series of results from abrasioncorrosion tests conducted using the micro-abrasion rig are presented. AISI 316L stainless steel has been studied under both pure abrasion and abrasion-corrosion conditions simulated by either distilled water or 3.5...
متن کاملStress Corrosion Cracking Detection of Sensitized Stainless Steel 304 in Chloride Media by Using Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS)
Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) was used to detect stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in stainless steel 304 alloy exposed to an aqueous environment at 120 °C. Stainless steel 304 alloy as u-bend was tested in the solution that contains 40 weight percent of magnesium chloride. U-bended samples were prepared according to ASTM G30. EIS measurements were always performed simultaneously o...
متن کاملExperimental Investigations on Stretchability of an Austentic Stainless Steel 316L
The purpose of this investigation is to examine the viability of using the sheet metal for forming applications. Forming limit diagram (FLD) composed of negative and positive minor strain with respect to major strain which occurs at directional zero strain with the critical thickness of sheet metal. The negative minor strain region of FLD is predicted by localized necking. However there is no d...
متن کاملLiquid Metal Corrosion of 316L Stainless Steel, 410 Stainless Steel, and 1015 Carbon Steel in a Molten Zinc Bath
Corrosion tests of 1015 low-carbon steel and two stainless steels (410 and 316L) were conducted in a pure zinc bath (99.98 wt pct Zn) in order to better understand the reaction mechanisms that occur during the degradation of submerged hardware at industrial general (batch) galvanizing operations. Through this testing, it was found that, in general, 316L stainless steel showed the best dissoluti...
